Moggerhanger Regional Gathering

What an amazing gathering!

Organic/Simple/House Churches came together from the North Norfolk Coast, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Peterborough and some from as far as London!

The day included a walk to see the ’snowdrops’ in the grounds of Moggerhanger Estate followed by a lovely lunch, 3 short talks (one given by me) and an ‘Open Meeting’ where time was given to the Body of Christ to share what the Spirit was saying to the churches

There was a real sense tha:t

‘New Life is Springing Up Across Britain!’

It’s time to ’shake off the things that stop us from moving in obedience’ to what Jesus is telling us to do!

It’s time to ‘Rise Up and Be Counted!’

We need to ‘Wake Up to the Sense of Urgency!’

These and many other words were shared during the session! If there is ever a time for Pioneers (prophets, preachers and planters) to take action, THE TIME IS NOW!

Redirected to Perth

Driving back from Keith, following the directions of my satnav, we passed Perth and Al rang my mobile phone. So we stopped the car to have a conversation.

As I started back on the road, the satnav, for some strange reason took us back the way we came and through a series of strange circumstances lead us back into Perth!

We parked right outside of a ‘Shamanic Shop’ and so went inside. The shop was filled with every act of rebellion you could imagine- from sorcery to skulls! Toby and I both got a sense that the woman in the shop ‘knew who we were!’ We declared the Kingdom of Heaven had come!

Then we went in search of a chip shop but somehow stumbled upon a cafe called ‘Three Sixteen’. There was a lady outside inviting us in for a free tea and cake.

As we entered it became clear that this was an outreach cafe run by the local Salvation Army. There were a few older people on one table, a couple of teenage girls on another and some young men on another.

We enjoyed our tea and cake and spoke to one of the leaders who explained that they were into ‘cells!’ I spoke about simple church, finding the person of peace and forming new groups around them.

We arrived at the cafe 1:15pm (it turns out the cafe opens from 1-2pm)! The Lord works in mysterious ways!

Al, Davey + the mission in Keith

We (Pete, Toby and Al)  prayer-walked a small town called ‘Keith,’ situated next to a whiskey distillery.

We also bound the strongmen over the area of drunkenness, insanity, abuse, witchcraft and freemasonry.

Strangely, a couple of weeks ago, the snow came down so heavy that the roofs of the whiskey distillery caved in causing widespread damage.

This is the place where Al Hutch lives (our kind travelling companion and tour guide on this mission trip around Scotland). Al, who is gifted both prophetically and as an evangelist, knows many of the people who live in this town, so we went to meet various people.

In the evening we had a simple church meeting on the estate in Keith where Davey lives. God has begun a work in Keith with people battling with drink, drugs and abusive pasts.

Please pray for this work and for freedom in Christ for the people of Keith

Cumbernauld: Finally Free After 50 Years?

We heard that many suicides had occurred in a place called ‘Cumbernauld‘. There was also a rumour that it had been labelled the ‘most depressing place in Scotland’, so we headed straight there to wrestle against the demonic stronghold over the town and to see what was happening.

When we arrived we drove around the town. I couldn’t believe it! The town centre (if you can call it that) is made up of grey, dirty concrete buildings. There is no high street as far as we could tell. The housing estates are made up of long concrete blocks that look like high prison walls (apart from some pokey square windows).

We prayer walked the area and noticed a mural that said ‘Cumbernauld 50 year celebration’. In the Bible, 50 years marked the year of Jubilee; a time when trumpets sounded and debts were cancelled. So we made some proclamations over the town that the Kingdom of Heaven had arrived and that it was time for the prisoners held captive by Satan to be released!

Now there is a need for ‘ground troops’ (evangelists/preachers) and planters to be sent into this town to reap the harvest and rescue those living in darkness!

Kenny+Hayley Russell- Modiesburn, Glasgow

Spent a couple of hours with Kenny+Hayley who have recently moved back to Scotland from the USA.

They have been involved in media (radio, tv, websites etc) for a number of years and have also been involved in ‘marketplace ministries’ forming successful businesses and forming organic churches in the workplace.

Faye @ Kingdom of God (Glasgow)

We met Faye at KOG cafe. Faye has a very exciting vision and a passion for the things of God that’s contagious!

KOG cafe is a centre for creativity, therapy and spirituality that stands in the centre of the Merchant City, Glasgow.

Once a month they host an Open Mic Night with acoustic music, local bands and spoken word.

Faye is a city centre missionary practicing ‘presence evangelism’; people experience the presence of the Holy Spirit and are introduced to Jesus through relationships

They are hoping to turn KOG into a 24-7 space, a place for the unchurched that’s relevant and hospitable!

As people drink hot chocolate, engage in real honest friendship and engage in creative activities the hope is that people will grow ‘Closer to Him and Closer to Each Other’. By this all people will know that we are His disciples!

St. Mungo

St. Mungo (the common name for St. Kentigern) was a late 6th Century Apostle in the Strathclyde region.

For 13 years he worked in the district, preached the gospel, made disciples and formed communities of Christ.

A large community grew up around him in an area that became known as Glasgow. St. Mungo was the founder of this great city!

It was reported that miracles followed the preaching of St. Mungo

Heather+Nari in Glasgow

Staying with Heather and Nari in Glasgow (still travelling with Toby and now Al)! Nari is originally from Omar and a superb chef. We talked about church-life as we ate curry and rice.

We spoke about Jesus and His community on earth. How natural Jesus was with his friends! They ate together, shared stories and food, prayed for one another and demonstrated the Kingdom of Heaven on earth!

When we walked through the door of Heather and Nari, we were strangers, but it wasn’t long before we recognised each other as brothers and sisters and a community of the King!

Nari spoke of Lawrence of Arabia (very popular in Omar). Lawrence dressed in the local clothing, ate local food and observed many of the customs and traditions of the local Arabian people. They loved him for this!

What can we learn from this story?

Mark+Brenda in Melrose

Al Hutch travelled down from Keith. Toby and I met him in Melrose yesterday at 2pm. We then went over to Mark and Brenda’s home.

Mark is a preacher; called to Rouse the Warriors! They are praying for 10 mighty men, a band of brothers to take Scotland by storm!

“What is needed right now in the UK is bold warriors! The violent take the Kingdom by force! We have been in a time of ‘peace’ for a long long time as the church in this nation, but it’s time to turn our ploughshares into swords and our pruning hooks into weapons of war! It’s not the time for farming equipment but for war instruments! NOW IS THE TIME FOR ACTION! Where are those men who turn cities upside down? Where are the men that demonstrate the Spirit’s power? Where are the men of fire?”

Mark goes around sharing the message of Jesus on the streets, in pubs, ‘preach Jesus whenever and wherever’

We stand with Mark and pray that men in Scotland will rise to take hold of their God-given inheritance. To stand their ground to to take back the land
